Regarding the letter to the editor from Scott Boa, of Ingersoll, Hamas broke ceasefire on Oct. 7 (Jan. 4).
I would like to ask those who deny Palestinians the right to life a simple question.
Why is it Ukraine is allowed to defend itself against Russian annexation of Ukrainian provinces, and yet Palestine is not allowed to defend itself against Israel’s illegal occupation?
While Hamas’ aggression against civilians was deplorable, in no way does it justify the past three months of carnage Israel has rained over Gaza.
Calling for a ceasefire in Palestine right now is a basic human rights appeal.
